Lead Educational Navigator – After-School Programs

Atlas Care is seeking an experienced, dependable Lead Educational Navigator to provide individualized educational support while helping guide program quality and Navigator development. The Lead Navigator works directly with learners and families while supporting consistent practices related to executive functioning, emotional regulation, communication, positive behavior, safety, social skills, daily living skills, and greater independence.

What You’ll Do

  • Follow and help strengthen individualized goals, routines, safety supports, and approved service plans
  • Model engaging, relationship-based instruction in home and community settings
  • Support Navigators with student-specific guidance, problem-solving, and professional practice
  • Maintain clear, family-centered communication with families and the Atlas Care team
  • Review or support accurate session documentation and consistent service delivery

Who We’re Looking For

Ideal applicants are experienced, patient, organized, calm under pressure, and confident supporting both learners and developing staff. Relevant backgrounds may include ESE teacher, experienced paraprofessional, instructional lead, special-education assistant, behavior-support professional, RBT, Early Steps provider, program coordinator, or another education or human-services professional with substantial experience supporting learners with unique needs.

Position Details

This is a part-time W-2 position paying $28–$35 per hour based on qualifications, leadership experience, and assigned responsibilities. Services are primarily provided in family homes and community settings throughout Lake County, Florida. Opportunities may include daytime homeschool support, after-school hours, evenings, weekends, school breaks, and occasional Navigator support or coverage. Specific assignments and hours are not guaranteed.

What You’ll Do

  • Follow each learner’s individualized goals, routines, safety supports, and approved service plan
  • Provide engaging, relationship-based educational support during temporary assignments
  • Assist with transitions, task initiation, communication, regulation, and independence
  • Maintain professional communication with families and the Atlas Care team
  • Complete accurate session documentation and provide dependable coverage

Who We’re Looking For

Ideal applicants are patient, flexible, calm, reliable, and comfortable adapting to different learners, families, and environments. Relevant experience may include ESE paraprofessional, instructional assistant, exceptional student education assistant, substitute teacher, teacher assistant, behavioral classroom assistant, one-to-one paraprofessional, RBT, Early Steps provider, or another special-needs support role.

Who We’re Looking For

Ideal applicants are patient, responsible, coachable, dependable, and pursuing education, exceptional student education, psychology, social work, behavior analysis, child development, occupational therapy, speech-language services, human services, or a related field. Previous special-needs experience is helpful but may not be required when an applicant demonstrates strong judgment, professionalism, willingness to learn, and alignment with the learner’s needs.

Relevant backgrounds may include music, art, STEM, recreation, culinary education, adaptive programming, special education, occupational or behavioral support, youth programming, or another enrichment field. Experience supporting autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, or communication differences is strongly valued.
