Navigator-in-Training – Education & Human Services Students

Atlas Care is seeking dependable college students and emerging professionals who want supervised, hands-on experience supporting learners of varying abilities. Navigators-in-Training assist with individualized educational activities while developing practical skills in executive functioning, emotional regulation, communication, positive behavior, safety, social skills, daily living skills, and relationship-based support.

What You’ll Do

  • Learn to follow individualized goals, routines, safety supports, and approved service plans
  • Assist with engaging educational activities in home and community settings
  • Support transitions, task initiation, communication, regulation, and independence
  • Receive student-specific guidance, feedback, resources, and professional development
  • Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, reliability, and accurate documentation

Who We’re Looking For

Ideal applicants are patient, responsible, coachable, dependable, and pursuing education, exceptional student education, psychology, social work, behavior analysis, child development, occupational therapy, speech-language services, human services, or a related field. Previous special-needs experience is helpful but may not be required when an applicant demonstrates strong judgment, professionalism, willingness to learn, and alignment with the learner’s needs.

Position Details

This is a part-time W-2 position paying $18–$22 per hour based on education, relevant experience, and readiness for assigned responsibilities. Services are primarily provided in family homes and community settings throughout Lake County, Florida. Opportunities may include daytime homeschool support, after-school hours, evenings, weekends, and school breaks. Supervision and assignment availability vary; specific hours are not guaranteed.
